Pros
* Easy to get in with bigger companies * Some of the recruiters are great, nice people * Sometimes, they'll take you out for lunch * They usually pay fairly, and push for you on rate
Cons
1 Too many contract to hire opportunities 2 The company isn't designed for repeat and serial contractors, and everything about the way they operate reflects this. Being a career contractor at Teksystems is not something they want you to do, and they don't have the infrastructure in place to support it. 3 No bench time or any other accommodations between projects 4 No recruiter loyalty. 5 You're only as good as your last contract. Even if the last client let you go because they don't like your gender, or sexual orientation. 6 Benefits are virtually non-existent, and the system they've put in place to address that problem is a joke. Like, it's less than the bare minimum. And it's so much worse than the original system that even the recruiters try to talk you out of opting into it. 7 Communication between departments has gotten better since covid, but it's still not good. See point #2 8 Lots of talk about diversity and inclusion, but shockingly little when it actually matters. Which brings me to... 9 No protection at all from belligerent or hateful clients. You're on your own if you're up against bigotry or hate speech.
