Pros
The learning was very hands on. Supervisors assisted my intern group with any issue, and they encouraged trial and error with corrections as a learning process. The staff was friendly and transparent with responsibilities and expectations. Additionally, I learned more in a semester length internship about tax than I did in four years of classroom accounting instruction. I highly recommend this internship to anyone with or without accounting education that would consider a career in tax.
Cons
The physical document processing station was is slightly unequipped to keep up with later tax preparation steps, leaving a bottleneck. However, the workload was still very manageable and relatively stress free for interns.
