Pros

I think of The Spur Group as a strong organization of goal-oriented individuals. The company culture breeds collaborative interactions that help new employees learn quickly and build skill sets - both intuitively and through clear channels of information sharing. As a new employee, I felt welcomed by employees of all experience levels. I have daily project meetings with executive level employees, and despite a steep learning curve, I have been given good guidance. They are willing to hire and train people with little to no experience in consulting, which brings more diversity to the company. The benefits are good, and the new office facilitates great face-to-face interactions with coworkers. I've had a great experience here so far, and I've learned a ton.

Cons

Compensation is below industry average and continued education is not included in benefits. Growth is happening very quickly, and scaling the company culture may eventually become a challenge.

Pros

Consultants are the highlight of the job. It’s a group of smart, driven people who support one another

Cons

There is a noticeable lack of initiative and accountability within the leadership ranks. While the consultants are high-performers, the management layer often feels like "dead weight." It is frustrating to work under leaders who are either disconnected from the work or simply unwilling to put in the effort required to support their teams
