Pros

Work hours are great, Team mentality, Everyone is not just friendly but they are personable too. Everyone is always helpful - when you new to rockets and don't know what or where to go or what your looking for - just ask someone, anyone. SpaceX stock grant is also great and they have ESP set up also for purchasing stock. SpaceX is a definitely an equal opportunity employer, they have people here whose entire head is tattoo'd, large ear lobe piercings and different nationalities. We even have a woman that was once a janitor that is now being trained to work on rockets. Training here is by far the best I have ever seen. They have online courses for everything from diversity to safety cable and hypergols. Managers & Supervisors hold monthly one on one meetings with you to make sure your doing ok and to give you advice for improving. Occasionally management holds outside events for employees ie. go-cart racing, paint ball or just hanging out after work for happy hour at a local bar-n- grill.

Cons

Wish the stocks could be vested a bit faster than they are, but heck ~ they are giving you free money to buy the stocks.

Pros

* **Unmatched Mission & Impact:** You are literally working on rockets and spacecraft. The cool factor is 10/10. * **Brilliant Coworkers:** You will be surrounded by some of the smartest, most driven engineers in the world. * **Insane Career Growth:** SpaceX on your resume is a golden ticket. You will learn more here in 3 months than in 3 years at a normal company. * **Hands-on Experience:** They actually trust interns with real, critical hardware. No boring coffee-fetching tasks.

Cons

**Cons:** * **Zero Work-Life Balance:** 70-80 hours a week is the norm, not the exception. Say goodbye to your social life and sleep. * **Extreme Burnout:** The "hustle culture" is toxic. You are expected to treat the company as your entire life. * **Mediocre Pay:** The hourly pay is average, especially when you factor in the insane hours and the high cost of living in LA/Hawthorne. * **Chaotic Management:** Decisions can change overnight based on whatever Elon Musk tweets or feels like doing that morning.
