Pros

gym, Pre-covid, there was free food 2x a week if you don't mind your cholesterol-raising and constant weight gain.

Cons

Only the good soldiers survive, do as your told and nod to all their ideas and you'll be ok. Your ideas are rarely taken seriously. Instead you will hear all the catch phrases like, "I like your enthusiasm, we'll look at it". "Hold tight, we'll look at that next quarter. " All they care about is hitting a number, and all your ideas about improvement or education be dammed. Management structure in Utah is a complete joke. They never provide you with educational opportunities or give you guidelines on how to move up. Those opportunities appear to be only for people of like minds. Nepotism runs deep in this company. VP's exist that only got the job because the literal big brother opened the door. That's just one example. Management will learn the latest trends in Organization Behaviour from HR and give you an hour of "training" as long as it doesn't interfere with your time on the phone. Most of these trends are basic 101 classes learned at any accredited school in the last 20 years, but they act like it's a brand idea. They rather you learn the psychology of an introvert vs an extrovert than how to streamline business processes. If you're in sales, you will get 100's of useless emails a day that someone closed a deal, regardless of deal size. You are warned against writing rules to auto store that in a folder or just delete it. So, you are required to read each one. Old CEO was a closet racist. Maybe with the new CEO they will finally have some diversity in the upper management ranks. Departments are completed segregated. Accounting and legal, look down on sales, sales look down on support, support looks down on everyone. There is no cohesive culture, just constant separation of groups as evident in company functions. Sales have constant dinners and outings, while support is lucky to get a gift card. They tell you, you are a salaried employee, but then lecture you if you leave 5 minutes early. Twice in the last 15 years, they were sued for over-working their sales and support teams. Most people got paid off to shut it down. Before the lawsuits, no one was allowed to leave at the end of each quarter until management blessed it. That practice was removed after the lawsuit, but you are still on the hook for leaving a few minutes early or arriving a little late. You are constantly looking over your shoulder when getting a cup of coffee.

Pros

Amazing office space in Charlotte with a strong emphasis on work-life balance. There are plenty of social events and networking opportunities that help employees stay engaged and build relationships across different business units. The recent IT reorganization has created a unique opportunity to participate in system and process design initiatives. While this level of change and transformation may not appeal to everyone, it offers valuable experience for those who enjoy shaping new processes and driving organizational improvements. I am optimistic about the direction of the organization and confident in the vision and leadership of the new IT management team.

Cons

Career advancement opportunities can sometimes feel limited within a satellite office environment, and promotion paths are not always clearly defined. Employees seeking long-term growth may benefit from having proactive career development conversations with leadership. The recent IT reorganization has introduced a period of transition, resulting in some uncertainty and lower morale across parts of the organization. The department is currently in a rebuilding phase, and new employees should expect to contribute to the implementation of new processes, systems, and ways of working. Compensation appears to be somewhat below market rates for certain roles, which may be a consideration for candidates prioritizing salary growth.
