Pros

Fantastic culture that makes you feel super welcome. Great exposure to the sales world.

Cons

Speaking from experience its who you know here, unfortunately we loose too many account managers due to opportunities being given to friends. There is a HUGE gap from account managers and Senior account managers - trickle down doesn't work and its evident by the amount of people leaving who should be supported more... but this place does reinforce dog eat dog in the wrong way Also - seen too many sales reps at Softcat take home poor pay checks due to Softcat internal teams mistakes countless times - this needs reviewing. *telling them to work harder is not a resolution to this ongoing HUGE issue.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback – and for being part of Softcat for over five years. It’s great to hear how strongly you value the culture and early exposure to sales. We also take your concerns seriously. Fairness in opportunity is critical, and we’re continuously reviewing how we allocate opportunities and support account managers to make sure development feels transparent and earned. You’ve also raised important points around pay and the impact of internal processes on earnings. We know how important this is in a sales environment, and we’re actively working to improve consistency, accountability and support so people can achieve their full earning potential. We really appreciate you sharing your perspective as it helps us to refine these processes. If you’d be open to it, you’re very welcome to reach out to me directly at pollyja@softcat.com – I’d really value the chance to understand your experience in more detail. Many thanks, Polly

Pros

Softcat places a strong emphasis on its core values: fun, community, intelligence, and passion. This vibrant workplace atmosphere is characterized by kindness and a spirit of unity and helpfulness with people willing to lend a hand. Softcat encourages collaboration by offering the opportunity to do induction in Headquarters in Marlow, England. This initiative strengthens relationships among team members and gives a sense of belonging. Softcat is a great place to work.

Cons

I haven't found one yet. :)

Pros

Having a supportive team, competitive salary, and focus on work-life balance, Softcat aims to provide a workspace outside the experience one might usually find in corporate America. In my time here, they have delivered on each front by encouraging us to learn and lean on each other while in the office, the space has become collaborative rather than competitive, which has been an inspiring point to put my best foot forward. Various team outings, in-office events, or shared lunches with direct seniors shed light on the people behind the business model and established workplace comradery I was unfamiliar with.

Cons

While the team is supportive, the learning curve can be steep and sometimes overwhelming. With Softcat's wealth of offerings, it's important that you prioritise time management skills and lean on your seniors in the beginning, which can, at times, feel discouraging; without a true daily marker for progress, you may not know how much you have already learned in a short time.
