Pros

Great team members, benefits, and location. If you're under age 30, it's a great place to start. They train you well and do look good on paper. However, if you're over this age and have work experience, Skanska is probably not a great fit. They value their training more than your experience and knowledge.

Cons

Your experience at Skanska depends almost entirely on the manager you work with. Unfortunately, Skanska makes it extremely easy for incompetent ego maniacs to rise while holding back those with knowledge gained through practice. Skanska will feign caring about your experience while gossiping and staying you in the back. There is no real support from people in positions of power. They care about process more than practice. It's the common core education model in corporate form. Skanska wants to be innovative technologically but won't enforce policy to make this happen in reality. It has alot to do with their fear of hurting some feelings. Many Indians and few chiefs. Lots of buck passing too. Pay attention in your initial offer negotiations. They have no problem asking employees to make 200 mile daily commutes without auto or gas assistance.
