Pros
I love the people-focused culture here at Shift. We are a remote-first company and management is very supportive of the flexible schedules that parents often require. Shift offers great perks, like a yearly home office setup stipend and a monthly lunch/internet stipend since we are all working remotely. The default length of meetings is 30 minutes and everyone is respectful of each other's time, which is a nice change for me. I genuinely enjoy spending time with my co-workers (even though it's primarily virtual) and appreciate that the leadership team is open to feedback and willing to admit to mistakes, which is a refreshing change from previous places of employment.
Everything above is simply icing on the cake, though, since for me the most important factor when choosing a workplace is the mission of the organization. I'm passionate about helping our service members and military spouses explore and find meaningful and rewarding careers, and I'm lucky to be able to do that at Shift.
Cons
It's a start-up, which isn't a "con" in and of itself, but you have to be prepared to work hard and adapt to change quickly!
