Pros

I have been with Sentient for a little over a year now. I was hired in as a trainee candidate with no previous IOM experience, but did have a health sciences-related degree. The transition was quite smooth for me, and everything I have experiences so far is exactly what I signed up for. The management team was very insightful during the interviews -- explaining both the positives and negatives of the job. I will say the unpredictability of the hours (because we are working in an OR-setting) was probably the hardest transition, but they certainly made it clear that this was the expectation and norm prior to being hired. Pros from what I've experienced/seen so far: - Salary/Compensation - I interviewed with several IOM companies and was made offers by 2 others, and Sentient's starting salary was higher - Mgmt tends to promote from within, so I feel like I have room to grow into advanced roles like management - Opportunity to earn extra money by working overtime - They reimbursed me and gave a raise for passing the CNIM

Cons

Unpredictability of the OR, but to be expected in the field. However, I knew this going in and this is what I signed up for. Other than that, I'm pretty happy.

Pros

I would not have joined Sentient in 2014 or earlier. They had different management that ran the company poorly. No one liked working there. Just look at the reviews below and the dates they were submitted. They have all new management since then and have done a great job of making it a great company. They started treating their clinicians like professionals, paying them what they should, set up a awesome training program that pumps out great clinicians, dropped all those small accounts in the middle of no where that they were flying people all over to do, etc. So much better to work here.

Cons

Case management software is dated, but they are suppose to be coming out with something new soon. I've heard some of the ideas going into it, and it should make life much easier for the clinician in the room trying to run the case and take care of all the notes, etc.
