Pros

If you are right out of school or have very little experience; you will gain industry experience while working at Sanaria. Your coworkers will be some of the best people you'll ever get to work with (minus upper management). Best advice; work no longer than 3 years there. You will get the experience you need to move on to something better.

Cons

1. Toxic work environment. Upper management produces a blame and shame atmosphere which creates a fear based environment. This fear leads to good scientists giving upper management data they want to see, yet is not accurate. 2. It is not a "family" or a "mission". Upper management will speak of the Sanaria "family" and the "mission" of eradicating malaria. You are not their family and the mission is to get the product to market. The "mission" is the feel good story in front of the motivation of greed and glory. 3. Unethical practices. If you want to keep your job, you will have to participate in activities that are unethical, and illegal in some cases (mostly related to QA). You will have to sign batch records and documents that are not accurate. Those that come to Sanaria with experience often struggle with this and end up leaving. 4. No upward mobility. There is no opportunity for advancement. You may get a title change but it is meaningless because you are not allowed to tell your coworkers. There are management and director position but those too are meaningless because all decisions come down from a few individuals.
