Pros

Can meet some lovely people. Certain managers can be really helpful. Good hours.

Cons

I will break this down into a few subsections- to summarise this place should be avoided at all costs. JOB LEGITIMACY- What does this firm even do? It makes no sense at all. Where does the money come from? All the funders seem to come from EU companies that seem sketchy and are not subject to UK tax. We also target people from impoverished backgrounds, English is their 2nd language and they are usually 70+. ARE THE CLAIMS SUCCESSFUL? No no no. We string clients along for years (yes years) to stretch out every last penny from the funders and then we tell them 'sorry we can't do anything now we will close down your case' TRAINING/MANAGEMENT. Be prepared to come in one morning thinking you understand something to be told a few hours later that youve been doing it wrong and that there is a new process now. THERE IS A NEW PROCESS EVERY OTHER DAY. Management will literally bully you if you cannot keep up. PAY? They rope you in- convincing you that you will be doing the BARE minimum which justifies the min wage., however the work you do is a mix of everything. Even if you arent trained for it you will have to do it. They say that once you move to another team your pay automatically increases. This is not true. PROGRESSION: They will randomly move you up to the other teams when they feel like it. There is no indication of skill needed. I've seen unskilled persons and nobodies move up just because the team was getting too 'full' and they needed to put them somewhere. Do not be flattered by this. DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION: Be prepared to be singled out if you are a different colour. You will also be exploited if you speak another language as you will realise 90% of the clients are foreign. Be prepared to be a translator on top of your normal job duties. Last time i checked a language speaker was a whole other job? If you are not with the 'in' crowd you are a nobody in their eyes. One week there you will know who this crowd is. Strangely they all kind of look alike too.

Pros

Small Law Firm is less expensive. Centrally located.

Cons

Low Security....open doors unlocked file cabinets, unlocked offices, client documents left unattended. No electronic security. Client accounts were ignored for weeks. Attorney instructed me not to call debtors. Never received written explanation of Pay plan. Never received written explanation of Job Duties. Workers spend time on rumors and gossip. No organized Training program.
