Pros

SGS Testcom manages the applications and the systems that manage the state vehicle smog program. They manage the system the best that they can based on funding and staff talent. There are a few talented people below the manager rank that are adding value to this project.

Cons

The working environment is deplorable, old out of date buildings with poor facilities (see other reviews). Computer systems and databases are on the verge of serious failure due to poor management. The headquarters in Balston Spa NY, contains the executive staff. The executives treat their managers poorly, not providing raises to reward good performance in 2 years. Relationships with the State of California (the customer) are often poor.

Pros

Very stable. Really nice people. Management is super nice. I recommend as a place you can build a career. Work / life balance is good too.

Cons

I would say the lower salary but benefits are great.

Pros

- Big company, globally recognized. - Nice co workers - Financially stable and has huge potential. - Diversity and continuous effort towards sustainability.

Cons

- Very slow, not aggressive. - No career growth, internal politics. Policies are very different across business lines which is unusual for such a huge company. - Low compensation compared to competition. - Not much support form management
