I have waited to post a review as I wanted to check on company progress after a new CEO for the UK was installed in 2023; the existing incumbent having taken a step back. The new CEO certainly lives up to his surname. It seems it doesn't matter if you have been performing well for in excess of 20 years, had multiple nominations for employee of the month or lots of positive feedback from customers; if your schedule is temporarily light you are ripe for the cull. And culled I was on the day I returned from annual holiday - welcome back to work, you're fired. My line manager was only made aware on the same day and had not been consulted. Fantastic management - not! So many to list: -Senior management haven't got a clue. -Family values are a downright untruth unless you are part of the clique in Birmingham -You are expendable if you are not 100% utilised all of the time. -Redundancies handled excruciatingly badly, E-mails included smiley faces, HR need to get a grip and be sensitive and professional. -The new CEO has no staff empathy, purely this is a short-sighted, short-termed view cost-cutter. -Antiquated systems. -Still have the mentality as a box shifting outfit. -Middle management have no real powers - example; overtime has to be signed off by 3 levels, your own manager, their manager and the manager above. -Pension not good. -Lack of career path. -Lack of training even if you continually ask. -Pay rises are minimal and you have to continually push to get one. -Bonus scheme is laughable/negligible. -Ridiculous sick pay rules; 8 days and then SSP; shows off your "family values" well!! -Toxic environment, keep your head down otherwise it will be blown off. -Car allowance has never changed or been reviewed. -HR do not understand people. -Lots of statements about "people values" which in reality mean absolutely nothing.
