Some lovely people, but the abusive owner overshadows this.

Overworked, underpaid, bullied. Do not work here. A racist, misogynistic, abusive bully owns the company. Nothing will ever change. You are constantly being watched, demeaned, contradicted, undermined, manipulated, sworn and shouted at. I was bullied out of the company by the owner after witnessing multiple racist remarks. He admitted to management he was targeting me and said he would never change. He had no reason to fire me so bullied me out instead. This resulted in targeted, misogynistic behaviour which eventually forced me to leave the company due to the anxiety and stress caused. Other staff members witnessed how I was spoken to and treated and it was all documented. There is no internal HR so the matter was taken to an external HR company who told us nothing could be done due to it coming from the owner of the company. There was no re-training, no disciplinary action and I was advised the only thing to do was leave the company. I am not the first this has happened to. Members of staff were seen crying almost every day due to the incessant bullying. Many have left Rokit without a new job, just to escape the awful environment. And to add salt to the wound, he then badmouths staff members after they’ve left the company as he needs someone to blame for his own failings. There is so much more I could say about his behaviour but Rokit’s own employee handbook outlines it perfectly: "Bullying is persistent, offensive, abusive, intimidating or insulting behaviour, which, through the abuse of power, makes the recipient feel upset, threatened, humiliated or vulnerable. Including: - shouting at or humiliating others - high-handed or oppressive levels of supervision - unjustified, offensive and/or insulting remarks about performance - exclusion from meetings, events or communications without good cause - physical or emotional threats " If you’re still reading and need any more reason to not work for Rokit…There’s a huge lack of structure and communication between teams due to the owner refusing to hire managers. He doesn’t believe meetings count as work so there are no opportunities to discuss this. No opportunities to progress, no perks, no incentives. Your bonus (which is full priced clothing) is earned by unattainable targets. There were minimal Covid regulations and no professional cleaning. Mice were often seen running through the building. It is a cold warehouse with no windows, unsafe flooring and the bathroom walls are falling apart. The only benefit is the other members of staff who are lovely and supportive but this is sadly overshadowed by the owner’s continuous, unwanted presence in the warehouse. This review is not an exaggeration. The only reason I did not pursue taking my experience to tribunal is because I did not want to waste any more time or energy on Rokit.
