Pros

The job is not hard, but the company makes it very stressful. The pay is not up there with my stress level, but it is pretty good for my area and the raises happen fast if you’re a quick learner.

Cons

1. It is rare to keep the same territory. I’ve been here 5 years and I’ve had 5 territories. 2. They will not hesitate to change your entire territory to something that doesn’t make sense. “Business continuity” is what they call it. Unnecessary windshield time and a waste of company resources is what I call it. 3. Projects, products, and programs are launched without proper planning for the future and without following the tried and true processes that have always worked. They call it being “fast and agile” I call it being disorganized and messy. 4. Everything is a priority. This will drive you insane. Your job is NEVER done. There’s always SOMETHING. Whether it’s a recall activity, a new brand, or the little gas station 2 hours away that forgot to order something, you’ll have to drop everything to make it happen and there will always be 20 things on your plate. All the while, you’re ignoring the people who do the big business because you’re bogged down with menial tasks that don’t move the needle. 5. If you don’t want to completely uproot your life it doesn’t matter how awesome you are, you’re never leaving this role. You will watch inexperienced people become your boss. It’s laughable and obvious why this place is so disorganized.

Pros

Company car and free gas

Cons

1. The managerial style of the district manager in Seattle is extremely petty, his reviews make no sense whatsoever, and there is a rampant culture of favoritism going on in his district. 2. The insistence on doing “work withs” for a person with high functioning Autism was absolute torture. Even though reasonable accommodations were requested by me, none were given. 3. The district manager also referred to me as in proper nouns that were derogatory and EXTREMELY offensive to someone with Autism numerous times. 4. The payout of bonuses were also extremely infrequent, even though I qualified for them. 5. Finally during the interview process, one of the biggest selling points that was made to me was a promise of a work life balance with “exemplary pay.” Neither of which came to fruition.
