Pros

The only real upside was some of the friendships I made while working at Reynolds.

Cons

If you’re interested in working at Reynolds, you should first ask yourself what you intend to get out of the job. If you’re executive management, then you’d probably enjoy your time at Reynolds, as they're the only people that really matter at the company anymore. However if you’re one of the regular people, you’re going to get stomped on, overlooked, and have all the credit for your hard work go to those above you. The culture has become absolutely toxic. Since the merger with BAT, the entire culture of Reynolds has been gutted and replaced with a business strategy that comes directly from London that has no connection to the American market or the people who work for Reynolds. Meetings are out of control at this company. Most people have 6-8 meetings a day 5 days a week and no time to get your actual work done. In one of these meetings, someone once asked how we were supposed to get our work done, and were told that’s what nights and weekends were for. You can forget about any kind of work/life balance. The culture at Reynolds has become so abusive that no one even bothers reporting the abuses - people just quit. They've had a huge outflow of seasoned people from the company, but no one can stand being there any longer. HR is either uninterested or inept, and if you do say anything about very obvious violations, your input goes unheard and unanswered. Bottom line - this is not the RJ Reynolds of yesteryear. It's a horribly unbalanced company, with senior management that is only interested in bumping up the stock price a few pennies to look good to the executive team in London. It's a sad shell of the company it used to be.

Pros

Company car and free gas

Cons

1. The managerial style of the district manager in Seattle is extremely petty, his reviews make no sense whatsoever, and there is a rampant culture of favoritism going on in his district. 2. The insistence on doing “work withs” for a person with high functioning Autism was absolute torture. Even though reasonable accommodations were requested by me, none were given. 3. The district manager also referred to me as in proper nouns that were derogatory and EXTREMELY offensive to someone with Autism numerous times. 4. The payout of bonuses were also extremely infrequent, even though I qualified for them. 5. Finally during the interview process, one of the biggest selling points that was made to me was a promise of a work life balance with “exemplary pay.” Neither of which came to fruition.
