Pros

It is a paycheck but nothing more. Sad because this place could be great.

Cons

Morristown Headquarters. 1. Weed out long-term dead weight. Stop promoting people simply because they have been working at the company for a long period of time. Doesn't anyone yet realize that employees leave because of incompetent managers? Poor to little collaborative company culture. Business departments are in silos and managers/leaders don't seem to care or are so unsophisticated they don't even notice. Reassess managers and leadership NOW! Managers and leaders are so afraid of losing their own jobs that the talents and sincere desire of staff members (to improve the organization) go un noticed. The communication for employees is awful. What little communication there is has no substance and is amateurish. Morristown departments are out of touch with each other let alone those that work in the field. Sad becuase this company could be great. 2. Get insight into best practices across the industry instead of re-inventing the wheel. IT organization is awful to work with. They cripple the entire company. If you are not one of the in crowd then you do not get IT help. Computers die, systems crash, yet individuals who know who to call get really great treatment. It is like using technology from the 90s.

Pros

The shift supervisor role consists of busy days with a lot of varying priorities. You are responsible for emissions regulation, work permits, specialized permits, managing changing plant conditions, and administrative personnel requirements. This can be a high-octane role but has a more relaxed period on night shift and when outages aren't occurring (planned shutdowns for maintenance). Expect to drive plant performance and employee development. Many opportunities for professional and personal development if you put the time in.

Cons

The plant culture will play a huge role in your quality of life, since most of your time will be at the plant. This can be good or bad. Quite a few managers do not engage or develop personnel due to various qualities. You will have to do the leg work in fostering a change for personnel development.
