Pros

- People are nice - Federal holidays are observed, but 2 are unpaid (100% unpaid if you are not salary or considered “skilled staff”) - PTO increases over years of employment (2 to start for those that qualify) - Portion of health insurance paid by company

Cons

- Management is sneaky/shifty/deceitful - Indifference/lack of caring when employee leaves - Micro-management/lack of trust in employees; managers walk around looking to make sure employees are working - 2 weeks are required notice for PTO to be considered planned, otherwise, it is considered an incident (unclear of the consequences if there are too many) - No free parking or bus pass reimbursement - Work can become procedural - Developers need to log all hours and what they do in those hours (time-consuming and does not always promote for developers to research new technologies) - Sick time is lumped into vacation PTO

Pros

I genuinely appreciated the opportunity to learn a new skill set in payment processing. The experience I gained is something I will carry forward in my career.

Cons

Unfortunately, the overall work environment left much to be desired. The facilities were poorly maintained and unclean, which made for an uncomfortable day-to-day experience. Theft was an issue that management failed to adequately address when reported. Goals and performance standards felt unreasonable and inconsistently applied, making it difficult to feel set up for success. Most concerning was experiencing retaliation from management when workplace issues were raised through the appropriate channels. The position also felt more like a temporary placement than a genuine long-term opportunity, despite not being hired as such.
