Pros

There are some great people who work too hard to be here.

Cons

Just about everything else. There's no 401K, no structure, no growth potential, no flexibility, no HR. There is a lot of negativity and gossip spoken about everyone, including clients and reps which is very deflating and demotivating. Bigoted “jokes" or disparaging comments are made on a regular basis that make staff members feel extremely uncomfortable. Employees are also thought of as time thieves that takes advantage of the company. The president is tyrannical when it comes to hours. You must work 8:30-5:30 and have a 1-hour lunch break. If you take longer lunches, come in late, or leave early, expect to be treated passive aggressively. On the other hand, if you work hard and stay late, don't expect to be compensated or thanked. To make matters worse, an upper manager on the account side is underhanded and calculating. He complains constantly about how badly the agency is run. He will initiate closed door meetings in his office just to gossip about people at work under the guise of diplomacy and empathy. And he is not slow to throw anyone under the bus to make himself look better. This culture of negativity and gossip seeps into every facet of the company. It stifles creativity, productivity, growth and motivation. When you come into work already on edge for fear of being berated in front of your colleagues or being told that the client is going to fire the agency because of you, how are you supposed to be an effective employee? There probably aren't many reviews about Redroc because it's such a small agency that employees are afraid to speak out anonymously. But I think it's important that these issues be brought to light. Because nothing will change otherwise.

Pros

Redroc is a hard working group of talented people who have an affinity for doing great work and supporting each other in the process. Clients flocked to work such passionate people. Their founder and CEO is one of the best people I have ever worked for. He truly embraces productive friction for the purpose of bettering each and every client and employee.

Cons

Change is hard and this agency underwent a lot of change pre-pandemic... but it was worth it.

Pros

Nice office space, somewhat predictable hours. Those that do the actual work are some of the hardest working, exceptional, intelligent and creative people I’ve had to pleasure to know.

Cons

No direct deposit. Yes, very archaic! Functions more like a high school with very defined clicks and a lot of complaining and gossiping about the company, the work and the management. Salaries are way below average, especially for entry level employees. Expect to barely scrape by financially. No performance or annual bonuses. Promotion structure is ambiguous. There is very little room for growth. No benefits (401k, Roth IRA, etc.) Lack of formal process in everything from on-boarding to performance reviews. No praise or recognition for a job well done. Lack of innovative, inspiring or challenging projects/work.
There's no camaraderie. People and teams are siloed with very little collaboration. People are not treated equally and fairly. Upper Management sends snarky and passive aggressive emails to employees instead of having forward facing conversations. Projects are convoluted with too many cooks in the kitchen. Boundaries were blurred between designers and account managers. A certain manager in upper management is extremely immature in the area of spreading and listening to gossip, and very much into favoritism of employees (mostly on his team). If you don't agree with his ideas or his way of doing things, he is disrespectful, rude and offensive. He definitely likes to make people upset or angry to get a reaction out of them. He always wants to make himself look like the "good guy," when in actuality he's the biggest problem.
