Pros

- Lovely colleagues. - Great brands with good histories. - Nice showroom for customers. - WFH days.

Cons

- The micromanagement was extreme. I was hired as a person with years of experiance but was actually forced into a role akin to entry level. All work had to be physically printed and passed for 'marking' by line manger, always passed back with arbitry amends to be redone. This was how many were treated in my dept, regardless of capabilities and experience. It felt quite humiliating and disrespectful. - Autocratic management style which was very dated. - Managers and a handful of other staff who have never worked anywhere else made every decision. It felt that unless you had worked there +10 years your view was not wanted, hence the micromanagement. In my time here I didn't get asked my opinions once and wasn't allowed to make a single decision. - A dreadful office that hadn't been updated for probably 20+ years which was conveniently bypassed during interviews. Food left to rot in back areas. Genuinely shocked on my first day. - School like atmosphere in office, where you feel constantly watched and chat wasn't allowed. - Some very rude staff, casual rudeness on a level I've not experianced before verbally and on email. Upset a lot of people. - Frustrating to see things ran 'as they always had' when there was so many oppurtunity for improvement. - Just painfully dated in every way, talented staff have their confidence chipped away at and become bored due to lack of autonomy and respect. Younger staff not nutured or developed. - Management continuly shocked at high turnover indicating a total lack of awareness of how bad things are which doesn't give much hope to things changing.
