Pros

This is not a bad company to work for by any stretch of the imagination and I've had experience in a broad range of businesses, across many sectors and over several decades. This company is young, dynamic and has an excellent relaxed atmosphere. The people here make this place what it is and I’ve met some amazing people during my time here. The company aspires to be the next google and tries to promote a culture akin to what might be expected in Silicon Valley. Its not there yet, but its great that it has this vision and continually makes progressive changes in achieving this goal. A formalised employee review structure was put in place a while back which ensures that people have room to grow and be rewarded accordingly. I’ve been continuously challenged in the positions that I’ve held within Pro:Direct Sport which makes for an interesting and engaging journey. This is a family business which has chosen to remain in Devon despite its successes and the problems faced by the delivery infrastructure and this feeds back into the community through sponsorships and jobs. No one is off limits either as I’ve bent the owners ears many times over issues faced on the factory floor or suggestions for improvements for both process and facilities. I've been here a while and still love my job.

Cons

There have been times where communication from Senior management hasn't been very forth coming and there were some panicked measures brought in at the start of the pandemic and prior to furlough being announced, and this might have left a sour taste in the mouth of some employees. The actions undertaken by the business was done primarily to secure the incomes of all employees given plummeting sales and the future at that point in time looking pretty catastrophic, however communication of these temporary measures was not without issue and there could definitely be improvements made in this area. We haven’t survived this journey untouched, unfortunately we were faced with a round of redundancies and the stresses that come with the lose of job security. I lost some friends in this last round of redundancies and hope that where now back on track to a safe and prosperous future.
