Only qualifications you need are hands to knock, feet to walk, and ability to memorize a corny "sorry to bother you" sales pitch.
Cons
Paid minimal base salary to be dropped off in a neighborhood in a van with 5-6 other guys to viciously knock on everyone's door. You then lie and say you did recent work in the neighborhood to try to coax/battle someone to sign up for a "free" estimate on an exterior product they obviously don't need a.ka. an inhome hard sale lasting 2+ hours depending on how many times they say "not today". 80% of the people telling you you have a problem with your home have probably never picked up a hammer or screwdriver. Rinse and repeat with a BS commission structure.
