If you somehow end up on the CEO's good side, you don't even have to be good at your job to be promoted or kept around during the constant layoffs.
Cons
This company is a nightmare personified. Don't even THINK about working here. First, some brilliant people work for Plume but are not valued. The entire company exists to assuage the ego of the CEO, who is borderline insane. He is brash, egotistical, and a flat-out bully. He joins meetings just in time to interrupt everyone, interrogate people to the point of embarrassment, and then drop bombs on any plans or strategies set forth. He'll then contradict himself three days later. Everyone at this company has a workload of 5 people, yet they keep laying people off because the company has no real direction. The direction du jour is whatever Fahri feels that day, and he won't feel the same way in a week. There are a few key positions at the company filled by completely inept employees who somehow have been thrust into leadership (nepotism). Even though they continue to fail and never meet deadlines or goals, they get promoted or moved to new roles to get a "chance to succeed in a different role," while incredible employees are treated horribly or laid off. The key to surviving is lying to Fahri as much as possible (telling him what he wants to hear) and making sure he likes you. Over the summer, a few executives vanished overnight without warning or word from them, and the team was not given any explanations. Then, at the end of September, a massive amount of the company was laid off unceremoniously and without the knowledge of many key leaders who absolutely should have been part of the decision-making. Mind you, that came after a HUGE cycling event the company puts on and spends tons of money on (and lost productivity on) AND the signing of a major deal with a new enterprise client. The mismanagement at this company will be its downfall; do not get tricked into taking a job here. You will wholeheartedly regret it.
