Pros

Overall people very nice, seem happy. Cooperation, no politics, interesting work. Good communication with other departments. Flexible about working from home and getting in late because traffic. Unlimited vacation time, but be careful about appearance of productive. Many very very good people, also good intern program. Nice location.

Cons

No work-life balance, CEO said doesn't believe in it. Employees fired no warning, no feedback or chance to improve or change work. Coworkers were good then disappear one day. Makes people nervous, less innovation and risk, because results can take time. Lots of spending on expensive swag, daily lunch, standing desks etc; but can be hard to get resources to be productive (hardware, working space, quiet, support). WiFi using its own product was terrible. Noisy open floor plan, but employees expected to focus and be productive, while interrupted constantly. Annoying when people play music aloud.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your time at Plume. We’re glad that you recognized the effort we put in providing unparalleled benefits to our employees. We are sorry to hear you did not have a great experience at Plume. Regarding your comment on no work/life balance and culture, it’s true that we ask our employees to work hard. It’s part of our core Plumian traits that we work in the NST “Now Standard Time” zone and that we deliver what we promise—on-time and on-spec. This is necessary in the fast paced environment where we are creating and marketing new products. However, we do make an effort to provide best in the industry pay and benefits. We offer an open vacation policy to ensure our employees have time to recharge, fully paid family health insurance, remote work options, a robust parental leave policy, fertility and matching 401k benefits in addition to offering every employee the opportunity to be an owner -- though equity in the Company. We have also redesigned our offices to include enclosed workspaces to afford additional “quite” rooms. Plume is also actively hiring to grow our workforce to make sure employees don’t have to bear the burden of growth alone. Finally, we have engaged an executive coach to assist managers and leadership in better communication with employees regarding their work performance and evaluations as well as goal setting. We are hopeful that these measures will provide employees with more feedback and opportunities for improvement. We value feedback and appreciate that you took the time to provide it. Please feel free to contact people@plume.com if you wish to discuss further. Shari Pire Chief Legal & Sustainability Officer
