Pros

Working at Berkeley HQ was fun. People were smart and capable. There was room to be yourself and make decisions that impacted the quality of work and integrity of the data coming out of pipelines.

Cons

After another round of layoffs and the closing of the Berkeley location it is clear that R&D has been put on ice at Pivot. New leadership have business backgrounds. It never felt like the science that went on at Berkeley was well integrated into broader decision making, and the shuttering of Berkeley makes that more evident. New employees should be ready for Pivot the be bought by another company.

Pros

Pivot Bio provides farmers with the best-performing, lowest-cost, most sustainable form of nitrogen fertilizer available on the market. Under a new leadership team, the company has taken the difficult but necessary steps to right size the cost structure of the organization, while at the same time accelerating the pace of innovation and expanding paths to market, turning this once in a century technology that helps the planet grow food more sustainability into a sustainable business. I am proud to work at Pivot Bio and have never been more confident in our path to continued success.

Cons

This is a high pace of play, high pace of change organization that may not be right for everyone. For those who can operate at a high pace of play and truly want to be a part of the journey to transform the crop nutrition practices of farmers around the world, Pivot Bio is a fantastic place to work!

Pros

Pivot Bio offers the kind of flexibility that allows employees to balance their personal and professional lives without sacrificing impact. It’s a place where constant learning is part of the culture, and the work being done genuinely makes a difference for both employees and farmers. The leadership team brings a clear, inspiring vision and the courage to push boundaries, which fuels continuous growth and innovation across the company.

Cons

In the past, leadership was less structured and accountability was inconsistent, with too many voices slowing progress. Thankfully, today’s management has taken deliberate steps to fix that. By cleaning house and setting clear expectations, they’ve created a culture where accountability exists at every level, driving stronger results and a more focused path forward. Pivot Bio is not only growing, it’s thriving, and employees have the opportunity to grow right alongside it.
