Pros
The building is beautiful, it's fun to be part of Pittsburgh's vibration arts scene, and the people there worth their space make working there very fun and fulfilling.
Cons
You have to wait for someone to die or retire to get promoted or even make a lateral move. Managers do just enough to actually manage, but I did not experience any mentorship. They're great in a crisis, very understanding of extenuating circumstances, etc. But there was no opportunity to work on skills under a supervisor's mentorship; you're pretty much on your own in the arena of self-improvement. Coworkers who don't work enough or impede others' work are not reprimanded. In fact, management seems afraid of them. This brings down morale big time. 80% of the musicians have awful attitudes. They'll argue at the box office window about nog getting enough free tickets while standing in front of people who are about to shell out $100 to sit in the Dress Circle to hear them perform Bolero for the 70th time. They're bossy and treat staff like they're less-than.
