I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Pittsburgh Symphony in Aug 2023
Interview
I had a first and second interview for this position. The hiring manager was unprofessional. They arrived late to both interviews, and at the end-time, they cut off any opportunity for me to ask questions so they could leave on time. The process lacked transparency; HR was not involved, the hours and salary range were not disclosed, and I was not given an opportunity to ask questions. Waited 7 weeks to hear an update after the second interview.
There were two interviewers who were cordial and professional. The interview was around 15 minutes. They asked me about my interest in the job and my previous relevant experience. They tested my knowledge of the organization. They posed a series of scenarios and asked what I would do in that situation.

Question 1
They brought out a seating chart for the winds and brass sections with each instrument's abbreviation, and asked me to identify each instrument in order.
Very professional, smooth process from start to finish. They ask questions about experience in fundraising but also want to make sure you’re coachable. As a non-profit, they want to confirm that you are willing to even perform duties outside the scope of the position.
