Pros

lunch is great. People are generally friendly when things are calm.

Cons

Company is not a fan of work from home despite the fact that nobody really interacts face to face in the office. Everyone instant messages each other and does zoom meetings when everyone is in the office. Probably will lead to a loss of talent for those looking for flexibility.

Pros

It's nearly impossible to get fired. After many years, the IT department has hired a diverse team. Coworkers were intelligent and ethical.

Cons

Unusual that, until after Covid, the IT department was about 95% Caucasian, but now the diversity seems to be due to the ability to lower salaries, and worsen work/life balance. Management will only promote yes-people, or hire from the outside. It's akin to working in IT in 1990s, there is little process or structure. Laptops weren't given to IT until after Covid (yes you read that right), and when they were handed out, they were the used laptops from revenue generating departments that had been upgraded. It was a very chaotic environment.
