Pros

Remarkably enduring brand Strong senior bankers dedicated to delivering for clients Good cultural feel in individual industry groups

Cons

Persistently and demonstrably poor and inexperienced leadership, with a bewildering sense of entitlement Lack of client engagement and accountability on part of senior management Absence of vision and passion to win at helm Very siloed structure with disincentives to cross industry teams and work as one firm

Pros

It's nearly impossible to get fired. After many years, the IT department has hired a diverse team. Coworkers were intelligent and ethical.

Cons

Unusual that, until after Covid, the IT department was about 95% Caucasian, but now the diversity seems to be due to the ability to lower salaries, and worsen work/life balance. Management will only promote yes-people, or hire from the outside. It's akin to working in IT in 1990s, there is little process or structure. Laptops weren't given to IT until after Covid (yes you read that right), and when they were handed out, they were the used laptops from revenue generating departments that had been upgraded. It was a very chaotic environment.
