Pros

Philips is global company, so your mileage will vary, but in my experience: - 401k plan is better than most. - Work/Life balance is great. - Global and dynamic business model - complex/challenging projects - Philips products do improve people’s lives. - Philips brand looks good on a resume. - Company seems to be on an upward trajectory

Cons

Typical big company issues: - Lousy Non-existent culture - The never ending RIFs and restructurings have left the organization resource constrained, dumber, confused, and demoralized. - ‘If you ain’t Dutch you ain’t much” is a real thing. Not a great company if you’re an American. -Upper Management can be a bit penny wise and pound foolish.

We highly appreciate it that you've not only shared the aspects you're happy with at Philips, like the work/life balance and business model, but that you've also shared the aspects that you'd like to see changed. We hope that we can encourage you to discuss these with your HR manager (if you haven't already) and that you'll notice improvement soon. Our management is active here on this platform as well, so your thoughts definitely will be written down. Thank you again for sharing these, these are very valuable to us. We wish you all the best.

Pros

- Easy commute if you live north of Seattle/Bellevue - Decent cafeteria - Decent compensation

Cons

- The level of apathy amongst colleagues is off the charts. Many people are simply coasting and collecting a paycheck. When you try to be a team player and pick up the slack, you simply become a target for blame. - Due to the extremely lax "return to office" policy, the office often feels quite empty when there is plenty of work to be done. Being onsite M-F often leads to more work with little support. - There is a culture of public shaming, with several meetings every week dedicated to project leads targeting individuals to make up for their own lack of technical understanding.
