Pros

Massive company, many opportunities to meet people from around the world. Company generally has a pretty good reputation. Non-cash benefits are fantastic. Company cares about health and is working towards implementing beautiful work environments for their employees.

Cons

American groups are mired with cronyism. Terrible managers and senior employees can sit tight and get away with not doing much work (not sure why, there were many instances where massive screw-ups should have led to corporate governance, but nothing ever seemed to happen). Tons of turnover in the junior levels because of this. Salaries are not competitive given the expected work. 10% of the days that I spent working at this company were 16+ hour days, the next 15% were 12 hour days, the next 25% were 10 hour days, and the remaining 50% were 9 hour days. Whenever this was brought up during compensation review, we were ignored or told that the company was trying to lower its finance costs/Revenue numbers. Maybe you should try harder to expand that denominator or even look for some of that dead-weight I mentioned before.

Pros

- Easy commute if you live north of Seattle/Bellevue - Decent cafeteria - Decent compensation

Cons

- The level of apathy amongst colleagues is off the charts. Many people are simply coasting and collecting a paycheck. When you try to be a team player and pick up the slack, you simply become a target for blame. - Due to the extremely lax "return to office" policy, the office often feels quite empty when there is plenty of work to be done. Being onsite M-F often leads to more work with little support. - There is a culture of public shaming, with several meetings every week dedicated to project leads targeting individuals to make up for their own lack of technical understanding.
