Pros

1. The animals. 2. Some what of a good pay. 3. Convenient and short drive from home. 4. Some nice employees, many friendships can be made.

Cons

1. Thats right number one is the management! They are awful, they can never do anything for you. I worked there for over a year begging to go to grooming school. I was a good bather as I had many request dogs. I would never send a dog out stinky and got their nails as short as they could go. I got put down all of the time! They made excuse after excuse of not to send me through their academy. I was told i'd be sent in January, patiently waiting I waited until May... I gave them one last chance before I left. And of course they made excuses.. I wasn't good enough, I missed too many days, didn't do H.O.P right, didn't have enough add ons. Every time I got called into the office they never had anyhting good to say about me. Nor did they about anyone else. All they worry about is MONEY! They care less about their employees.. All you are there for is to make them money.. If you don't you'll be sure to be nagged about it every day! Also I called the district manager several times to fix issues and he did NOTHING! If they got new management and a better district manager they might be a good place to work. I will never shop there again. I will go to petco instead because atleast you're treated with respect and the employees are'nt miserable looking.

Pros

The company pushes for more and more from the bottom level employees without better pay. I worked there before the restructuring and; not much can make me cry, but working here sure did, even back then. I can’t imagine how anxiety inducing it must be to work there now. Animal welfare is a complete non-concern. The only thing that’s pushed is sell, sell, sell. It’s borderline dystopian. Bad management seems to be a common issue, not only from my experience, but many others’ as well. I worked until I was an exhausted sweaty mess to make sure everything in pet care or, when I groomed, the salon, was cleaned to perfection as expected of me (and I reiterate: “me,” because these standards were not expected of my co-workers, just me) and overall felt very unseen. The only times I did feel “seen,” was when mistakes were made. Work was treated like boot camp. A co-worker that was subtley targeting/bullying me, and even started rumors accusing me of racist remarks(!!!), was promoted and anything I reported was downplayed because they were friends with the assistant manager. Working here was an overall traumatizing experience.

Cons

Employees are expected to be work-robots
