Great Local Company - Retail Store Manager Perlis Employee Review

During this terrible time of COVID, this family owned company has gone above and beyond to try and keep as many of their employees working. They did the same thing during Katrina. They have employees that have worked for them over 50 years.

What a pleasure it is to be working.

Family-owned (a good family, too). Sweet, sweet, wonderful people. Very established, with lots of loyal customers.

A few bad eggs are basically running the place when managers should be. I saw just two or three people basically making everyone else completely miserable, with absolutely no intervention from management. The company has lost so many good employees because of the lassiez-faire attitude when it comes to handling the ones who cause problems, bully others into giving up their customers, blocking salespeople from earning any commission, and taking the lion’s share for themselves. These few people were also simply unbearable to work with because they didn’t pull their weight, and in some cases were outright abusive to their peers. And yes, I said peers. Someone came in after I did, with less experience, and essentially was able to hijack the whole floor and nobody would check them. Eventually, after touching it out around a year, I just left. I’ve watched others leave, too.
