Bill-ability, not Delivery - Senior Solutions Architect Perficient Employee Review

Pros

Some good people, a few solid clients

Cons

There is no understanding of scope management, project delivery, schedule management, or even estimating. For example, estimates center on the client's budget, not the cost to accomplish specific goals. I worked on a few engagements in the one year with Perficient. A typical engagement would start with a UI/UX, that consumed 60-70% of the budget (and run up billable hours for THAT team). The client would start to get nervous, and the SW development would have to fly superstars in to "rescue" the effort. PMs have zero (no, nil, nada) power. The "Experts" stick around long enough to show some progress, then jet off to the next rescue. Guess who gets attention? Guess what's rewarded? Yeah -- "heroes."

Pros

Very little outside of some of the people you work with. FTO is only nice if you have a manager who lets you use it. They did allow work from home, not sure if that is still the case.

Cons

This company was run poorly by Tom Hogan before private equity bought it but the buyout accelerated their decline. If you want to be a cog in the machine, this is the place for you. The leadership is only focused on themselves. They will praise you or throw you under the bus depending on how they feel it makes them look to their bosses. The employees who don’t have a stable long term project live in fear of being let go irregardless of talent and many of their most talented are leaving because they see the writing on the wall.
