RUN RUN RUN AWAY !! - Retail Manager Perfect Potion Employee Review

Product, team, passion, customers One of the most memorable work environments I have been in purely because of the people it attracted- really good quality people who care about the right things. The product is outstanding and carries the weight of literally everything else that struggles - mostly the HR and company structure where the bosses only listen to Yes men who don't have an outstanding retail vision but just blow fluff up. The company needs to have an amazing retail vision and listen to the people that have it- many team members i have worked with over the years have had great visions- but nobody with power to implement it, listened- they were too busy admiring busy work fluff! This may shoot them in the foot in keeping up with the changing face of retail- only the best survive and I do wish them well truly- I love this company amidst my constant frustration while working there. The bosses need to stop listening to people who fawn over them and take the approach of "what can i do better" and scan the team for feedback and develop a keen ear for hot retail strategy. Also acknowledging and rewarding team who have the fantastic ideas!! Ive seen too many good ideas taken without credit and that also kills the incentive to truly look for ways to improve things. The culture of trying to look good - busy work - and rewarding fluff needs to stop in the company.

I believe I got the most out of this experience as I could but would I recommend my friends to work there? probably not. It is the kind of place that is good to work temporarily but beyond that, it will start to depress you with how stifling it is and how there is ZERO room for growth- for you and for the company. The struggles of the company to grow are perfectly mirrored in how staff feedback is barely asked for or considered. The staff outgrow the job in a few months- there is very little room for movement or collaboration. This starts to affect the care you have over many years.
