Pros

The company has an glorious past and an admirable mission. The front line staff are great people to work with.

Cons

While the company had to reinvent itself with the demise of publishing and changing education free, the way it was done is being poor. It's been in cost-cutting mode for years and most of the talent has left at the senior level. Many people seem to be waiting for their redundancy package and the mood of the company generally poor.

Pros

Working on EdTech and helping improve educational outcome. Caring coworkers, altruistic & mission driven, etc.

Cons

Pay is reasonable for working in the education field but is slightly lower than working in other parts of tech.

Pros

When a project goes according to plan you can work with some great people and make decent money.

Cons

Bad behavior is tolerated when you have a weak team member. They are allowed to remain on payroll, even if they do not effectively contribute. The burden is often placed on the team members willing to pick up the slack. Promotions are not given to the most qualified. They are randomly assigned. There are some horrible scoring directors as a result.
