Pros

Starting in National Sales Support was grueling (lead development/cold calling), but there's a lot of camaraderie to be found in that department. You also develop skills like objection handling and conflict management which transcend to any career. After committing to that position for a year, you are able to post out and grow with the company. The leadership supports a growth model with it's employees and you have the ability to manager your career and take it where you want it to go. The benefits are fantastic, i.e. health insurance, 401k, wellness and discount programs, etc. The company is solid, financially, and poised to grow in the realm of HR services.

Cons

National Sales Support can be tough, but it's a fantastic way to get your foot in the door with the company. Wages tend to be slightly deflated, but the company more than makes up for that in the supplemental employee investments, i.e. benefits, training, and development. The culture is fairly conservative, which at times can feel rigid and inflexible, but it's the nature of the industry.

Pros

Paychex is a great company to work for. I’ve held multiple roles over 20+ years. There are always ups and downs, but for every position, manager, decision I disagree with, there are ten others that are outstanding.

Cons

It’s a large company with many opportunities to grow, but smaller companies may offer higher compensation.

Pros

Nothing is good about working here.

Cons

Nobody is ever held accountable. Pay is awful. Benefits were all moved out of state, so all providers in the area are all out of network. Jobs are being moved to India. The list goes on. Sales is the absolute favorite department in the entire company. Nothing sales can do is ever wrong, even when they give false information to clients and then the support team has to deal with the fallback. Don't get me started on Payroll.... the entire department has gone to the wind. I honestly don't know how this company ever did good with payroll services. The #1 complaint i got from every single client I interacted with was they could never get ahold of their Payroll Specialist. The company's response to this was to start making other departments learn payroll duties. This year they moved insurance benefits to a plan out of Arkansas, which made every provider I was already seeing become out of network. I had my first major medical scare of my adulthood and ended up paying a few grand out of pocket because U of R was out of network. Promotions are non existent. They make you apply and interview for any role you want to move into. There is nothing good about working here, and i would advise anyone to stay away from them.
