Great company culture but store owner and manager did not make employees feel appreciated - Sales Associate Pandora Jewelry Employee Review

Pros

The team is small, around 10-15 people so you can really bond and get to know your coworkers. I made some really good friends through working here. When the store opened we got 50% off all jewelry but because Pandora stores are not franchised the store owner/investors decided to cut back to only giving us 15% off after 3 months. We got christmas gifts and cards from the owners (ie. silver bangle the first year and then just a $25 gift card the next year), and they do make a small effort to get a cake for each employee's birthday.

Cons

Never got a raise after working there for 2 years, base salary stayed the same ( $12/hr), and commission stayed the same as well (1%). Hours are strange -- for example they will get you to work 3 or 4 hour shifts, and hours are distributed based on sales performance. Very few genuine encouragement from manager even through christmas season where we were the busiest, no overtime pay.

Pros

•Discounted Jewelry •That’s about it.

Cons

• Catastrophically high turnover rate (saw 4 different managers within a year) • Regional manager quit within a year as well •Will “write you up” for the smallest issues; “you were one minute late” • Condescending management • Manager cut hours after employees gave honest, kind constructive criticism that was supposed to be anonymous • Manager would unnecessarily search people. • Manager would change “rules” then write people up before giving anyone a chance to explain.
