Pros

- Good, hard-working people below exec levels

Cons

- Not only is the CEO decimating the culture, but so are many of the new management committee leaders that have joined in the last 3 years (including the new CHRO). - With the new 4-day RTO policy, CEO says "we're better together" in-person, touting moments that matter in the hallways or at the watercooler that will help us make decisions and solve problems faster. But this company is terrible at communicating and being inclusive, so those decisions and solved problems will stay between the handful of people who were together at that moment. - What was once a company that employees were proud to work for is now gone. Yes, some things needed to change at the company but the employee experience is no longer valued or prioritized. - Unless you are an actuary, there is little career opportunity

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand that workplace changes can be challenging, and we’re sorry to hear this has been difficult. As our organization evolves to meet long-term business goals, we’re also reshaping how we collaborate. To support flexibility, we’ve introduced a return-to-office schedule that blends in-person collaboration with remote work—most employees spend the better part of the week in the office and a day working remotely. The idea is to create more opportunities for spontaneous connection and faster decision-making, while still allowing space for focused individual work. We remain committed to building a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and proud to contribute. To help during this transition, we continue to offer wellbeing reimbursements, onsite amenities, and resources that promote balance and wellbeing. We appreciate your feedback and encourage you to speak with your manager or through internal channels such as our Pulse Survey, Coffee Chats, Town Halls, and other engagement opportunities with senior leaders.

Pros

What I'm most grateful for is my team and the culture. Pacific Life is full of supportive, knowledgeable, encouraging, and just genuinely great people. I feel challenged, appreciated, and lucky to be a part of this culture.

Cons

In-person requirement of four days a week is not consistent. There is lots of flexibility with that, though.

Pros

Great benefits and great team members!

Cons

The Return to Office policy is driving away one of our talented team members. Blindsided by reorgs. No polls done to determine what is best for our team.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and for recognizing the strength of your team and our benefits. Our in-office approach is designed to support collaboration and connection across teams, while still offering flexibility through one remote workday per week, along with our flexible workdays benefit, which allows for additional remote days throughout the year. Feedback like yours helps us continue learning how this is experienced day-to-day across different roles and teams. We appreciate you taking the time to share.
