Is this your company?

Pros

The company offers the world to every employee, but can't back it up. If you are able suck up well enough, you can survive long enough to gain some experience. The shared experience of putting up with the company is so awful, that you become great friends with all of your co-workers out of commiseration.

Cons

When looking for a new job, MULTIPLE potential employers asked "I've heard about PLS. That place sounds awful! How did you work there so long?" Answering this question is what made me realize that I need to write this review. I wouldn't normally do this, but people deserve to know what they are getting into when working for OR WITH PLS. The company structure promotes a "he said she said" environment, with constant bickering between managers within and between departments. The CEO has a pattern of disappearing for months at a time, and micro managing when he decides to show back up for a couple of months. There is NO form of career development. There is no focus on how to improve individual performance. If you fit their numbers profile, you stay. I've personally seen MULTIPLE employees work for this company for years only to be let go without reason. Their termination policies are barbaric and just rude. You can follow their rules to the letter, be "successful" and get let go for making too much money . . . For a new sales person, they will make your job increasingly difficult as you begin to actually make money, by requiring you to not only do you job (sales) but also preform the tasks of every other department! Be prepared to need to be fluent in accounts payable, accounts receivable, carrier management, and dealing with a group of management that has the mentality of a highschool boys locker room.

It’s unfortunate to read about your experience with PLS. We are constantly focusing our attention on our employees and the work environment for all offices. We're actually starting new initiatives this year based on feedback from current and former employees. Additionally, we do allow an unlimited earning potential and we don’t let our team go without a valid reason. If you perform well and work hard, there can be a great future ahead. Thank you for your review, we will take this into consideration when strategizing new internal initiatives.

Pros

The Colleagues and relationships you make with your co-workers. Building a book of business, and fast paced environment. Unlimited Growth Potential.

Cons

The direction the company is headed in and the toxicity of an everchanging management structure. As someone who spent almost a decade with PLS; I can say fully and honestly, they do not care about you. This is a company to build experience with and move on from. If you are a $20K rep for more than 6 months, after you roll out, they will move off of you. You will be terminated with no second thought--other reps will poach your clients and potentially ruin any relationships. Furthermore, management tends to play favorites--If you show growth potential, they will feed you, but the moment you fail on one opportunity--you will be turned over. This is not the job for anyone who questions their own ability and work ethic. PLS Hires in classes - they will hire 30-40 people at a time, and in 3 months, 4 to 5 people of that class will remain. The turn over is extremely high and there is no job security. Finally, even if you are a top performer, they will not hesitate to get rid of you.
