Pros

Okay, so I read through enough negative comments from people who have not "made it" to finally reach the point where I thought it important that you hear from someone who LOVES it at PLS! First let me say this, I am extremely competitive, self starter with strong communication skills that loves to speak with people and find out the what, where, who, etc of their business and then find solutions that will help them execute their supply chains more effectively, and you know what I make great money doing it. The culture is great, my goodness we have a basketball court indoors that we use for many different contests or just to go play some "horse" if we are too stressed. We have cookouts all the time where the branch manager cooks for us and I love having SportsCenter playing in the background and music going all day. Leadership of the Branch is outstanding...I can not say enough about how strongly I feel about this place! Overall, we do have people that come in that must have interviewed well but when the time came to do the job they just did not have what it takes, sometimes that hurts the pride a little as I can see from some of the negative reviews. Thought it time you heard from the "other side of the fence."

Cons

Stressful Market conditions change quickly Logistics is never a well oiled machine, so many times there are last second changes that can happen, i.e. accidents with trucks, carriers that "fall of freight" that they agreed to take, etc

Pros

The Colleagues and relationships you make with your co-workers. Building a book of business, and fast paced environment. Unlimited Growth Potential.

Cons

The direction the company is headed in and the toxicity of an everchanging management structure. As someone who spent almost a decade with PLS; I can say fully and honestly, they do not care about you. This is a company to build experience with and move on from. If you are a $20K rep for more than 6 months, after you roll out, they will move off of you. You will be terminated with no second thought--other reps will poach your clients and potentially ruin any relationships. Furthermore, management tends to play favorites--If you show growth potential, they will feed you, but the moment you fail on one opportunity--you will be turned over. This is not the job for anyone who questions their own ability and work ethic. PLS Hires in classes - they will hire 30-40 people at a time, and in 3 months, 4 to 5 people of that class will remain. The turn over is extremely high and there is no job security. Finally, even if you are a top performer, they will not hesitate to get rid of you.
