Pros

Peter Mayer has good benefits and some of the best creatives working together in New Orleans. The agency has a rich reputation but recently has been in decline.

Cons

The work culture leaves a lot to be desired. This year alone the company has had high turnover and a few layoffs. The current CEO is interested in creating a more diverse company however many of the lifers are not interested in the same mission of creating an environment where young creatives of color, specifically, Black can thrive. Most of the Black talent are hired or mentored by supervisors who coach and craft their creativity. When those supervisors leave, Black talent are left to fend for themselves. Requests for more money and support fall on deaf ears. Coworkers can be two faced and the environment is similar to a rat race. There ERGs that focus on diversity but its a constant cycle of We are learning but never implementing. Leadership has been friends for years so finding genuine support will be limited. If someone has an overly positive experience that means they are best friends with someone in leadership. At times, loyalty is picked over skillset. Across divisions there is micromanagement and quiet firing to push people out who are not in the PM clique.

Pros

Fun team Semi-annual all agency meetings / party Remote if you don't live in New Orleans Good project management team

Cons

Hour tracking Laid off more than half the staff I really enjoyed my time at PM and would've love to work there for a long time if I wasn't laid off. Its unfortunate the agency couldn't seem to win any new business. There were around 45 of us at one point during my time there and I think there are only 15 or so employees left now from layoffs and people leaving. It was incredibly sad to see people who have had super long tenures here get laid off.
