Pros

They paid me on time.

Cons

Boss took a week off the day I started and then complained I only wrote 12,000 words that week. Needs to be 15,000 words a week minimum divided among 30 stories. That's 80 minutes each to write six 500-word stories per day, including the research and the writing. About all kinds of different topics, from insurance to shoes to Disney. Even had to sit in on daily staff meetings where the sales crew never reported anything positive. Saw the handwriting on the wall. Wrote 15,000 words the next week and quit. Wrote 15,000 words the next week -- just to show them I could (and it took an extra hour or two each day) -- and quit. Too many unreasonable expectations for a lousy $18 per hour.

You attempt to smear a U.S.-based company where you lasted 2 weeks as a ‘Colombian-based content factory’ based on the fact that our diverse team includes team members born or currently residing abroad. You, dear sir, are a bigot. Word count has never been an issue for anyone in that role prior to or since your brief and dreary time here. We abhor racism and bigotry. Shame on you. What would your mother think of this behavior?

Pros

Good relationship with your coworkers

Cons

The CEO is the least intelligent person in every Zoom meeting he's in. It's all anyone talks about when he leaves the call. The entire work culture is built on every employee trying to navigate the gaps in his intelligence so they can get their work done and try to meet the nonsensical quotas and demands he sets. In his own unique way, he has fostered a collaborative work environment. Everyone has to work together to overcome his incompetence. But eventually, he'll stumble in after one of his extended vacations and destroy all the work you have done. Stay away
