Pros
-Colleagues are generally friendly and apart from the odd one in each team, collaboration is easy. -Technology, you will get a decent laptop, phone to work with and the FTTP products being built are world leading.
Cons
-A lot of group think and nepotism hires at director level and above, you do have to drink the same kool-aid to get on in this company and love office games and politics. -Non urgent works calls in the evenings, late at night and on weekends. Endless meetings and daily calls will run on sundays even starting at 6am. Its often originating from the C-Suite so not easy to tell them to just get a life and call you back on monday in working hours ifs it not urgent. -Turnover is going wild, lots of good people have left before i did and they arent backfilling so remaining colleagues's are doing two jobs and the very long hours (unpaid) that come with that. It is normal for people to log back on around 9pm and email or call each other till 11pm even during quiet periods. Good people are getting burnt out and leaving, others are quiet quitting. -No home-based working anymore. Yep you read that right, the company that builds the internet doesnt trust its employees to work from home. They have an office culture and require everyone in their new office locations min 3 days a week. If the new office location is not near you thats just tough you will have to commute for 5 hours a day or leave. This impacted literally 1000s of people in the last year, really sad to see an exec team so out of touch with the modern trends in industry.
