Pros

Top company with a great outlook, an ethos to be respected and admired Reasonably flexible where they can be Decent pay and random bonus incentives Work from home No weekends Very inclusive environment Really can’t fault them as an employer and will always remain a loyal customer

Cons

Customers! Energy is a strange place to be, worked for another energy company years ago and customers were just the same then, except now they’re worse. It’s like any tiny perceived error and the demands for hundreds of pounds to be written off begin. Super weird. Like you wouldn’t demand your whole weeks shopping for free if the supermarket overcharged you 10p on a pint of milk, but somehow in energy that’s almost expected. Thank Martyn Lewis for that. The level of entitlement is unreal. Had to leave as got sick of giving money to these chumps. Not Octopus’s fault, the energy sector as a whole is just a crazy place.

Pros

Some members of the company are the best people you’ll ever meet.

Cons

Genuinely a complete mess. Incompetent, passive aggressive leadership that repeatedly makes both poor and confusing company decisions. I have some absolutely crazy stories from things I’ve witnessed here. There’s things that are so bizarre and dysfunctional, they belong in an alternate reality.
