This company (Nutbourne) seems very accommodating during the interview process but once you start with them you actually see this is a slave market for the south african staff. Firstly, South Africans work 10 hours a day on contract basis, while the UK staff work 7.5 hours as permanent employees. I have witnessed several SA staff contracts gets terminated when they are not happy with your performance. They will give you some random excuse for the termination and not sufficient time to find another job, at most 4 weeks notice. They employ SA as contractors to bypass the Tax system in South Africa and avoid paying income tax. Support management and team leaders micro manage the SA staff continuesly like they know the staff are desperate for the money and only have 1 year contract and will do anything not to get terminated. They know the Rand is extremely weak compared to the Pound and using that to leverage maximum profits for their own benefit. They employing more and more desperate SA staff and lowering the salaries while they study the South African job markets.
