Pros

If you're a man who fits their type, it seems like it can be a great place to work. HR is pretty responsive, but that should be a given not a point in favor.

Cons

There are basically no women in technical roles at the company and I learned why pretty quick. A guy in upper management bragged about having sexually harassed someone to win a project on the big stage of the all hands once, and suggested others do the same. He said he was sleeping with someone else involved with the project and then tried to spin it as a lesson to the company to be assertive. Gross. One day I carpooled to lunch with someone and he pointed out all the women on the sidewalk that he would have sex with. Gross. An employee called me a slur openly at the same all hands meeting. Also gross. I don't think the company is bad per se, it's just a bad place for people who look like me.

Novacoast is conscious of the homogeneity that pervades our industry, and prides itself on creating a culture that is sensitive of these disparities and welcoming of all genders, races and backgrounds. We work to have open communication channels available to all employees to bring issues to our attention, and regret when this availability is not evident to every employee. We do not tolerate behavior as outlined here, and encourage any current or former employee to reach out with issues so that we may continue to provide a welcoming and respectful workplace.

Pros

Unlimited room for growth, unlimited help from peers, remote work offered, flexible work hours if needed, no micro-managing, and overall just a good work life culture.

Cons

Some managers have a lot on their plates, making it hard to be available at all times.
