Pros

Operational planning is staffed with friendly and highly professional individuals who accept diversity, and work very hard. I very much enjoyed my time amongst them. They are undoubtedly the jewel in Network Rails crown.

Cons

Asset Information Services is home to illegal activity. There is a hacker who used hacking tools, skills and knowledge, upon companies who worked alongside of Network Rail. Worse, he used these things upon others (including staff members to who he had a duty of care) to spy upon my Internet activities (and even shared hacking tools with others to enable them to do it to) so that he could use this information (I. E., sexual interests and identity) to subject them to psychological intimidation and bullying (he was openly pro-bullying) . They received full support for this activity from his friends in the Team. Basically the team was organised so that he and his friends did little or nothing (aside from gaming on company time), with the majority of the workload being dumped on others, mainly me. More broadly AIS is deeply (and in the case of members of the BAME and footballing communities, who made up the majority of the AIS population) openly and anti LGBTQ+. They were blatant, and totally unafraid (and unchallenged) to be very vocal in their views. All of this activity happens within close sight and earshot of AIS senior management.
