Pros
National Grid has worked carefully to develop a fantastic work culture. It is unique in that almost all employees are ALSO customers, which helps foster an inclusive and customer-focused environment. Managers and senior leader recognize the importance of a work-life balance and employee development. Intercompany are encouraged if they help employees grow and strengthen their technical or leaderships skills.
Cons
Long hours and hard work can often go unnoticed by the public when services are working well. Recognition and approval rarely comes from customers who learn where I work.
