Pros
It was nice working with some of the smartest but badly utilised people in the industry. During the NTT Security period, the direction was generally positive as there was investment, expansion and good morale. This all changed with the merger into NTT Ltd and a change of management.
Cons
Compensation is below real market value. Lack of training - managers like to play favourites with individuals who get vendor training, the rest get nothing. No company culture - office is dead and full of people waiting for redundancies or just doing their jobs purely for the sake of paying their mortgages off. Local SOC manager makes North Korean leadership seem extremely kind. Management's attitude during COVID-19 - "be grateful you have a job". NTT Ltd. management may have been adequate for a medium-sized company in South Africa but is now vainglorious, self-serving and their management skills are woefully inadequate for a Fortune 500 company. Internal IT teams do the best with what they can but the overall experience (for both clients and internally) is a major joke for a Fortune 500 company. Offshoring of jobs, even specialist/highly skilled ones is happening (which doesn't make sense because that talent is close to non-existent or hard to retain in low-cost offshoring hubs). The Grinch runs the company - evidenced by cancellation of the Christmas Party for 2020 (in a country with close to zero cases of COVID).
